More About Me

Crystal
started her residential real estate career in Northern Colorado in 2012 and successfully
focused energies on assisting residential homeowner occupant buyers and sellers.

Before
real estate, Crystal worked ten years in law enforcement as a police officer
and then detective. She specialized in child crimes, internet crimes against
children and was also trained as and worked as a hostage negotiator with the
regional SWAT team.
With her criminal justice background, Crystal has a strong sense
of justice and a protective nature and strives to ensure her customers are treated
fairly and protected within their real estate outcomes.

Crystal earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Criminal
Justice from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters Degree in
Forensic Psychology from the University of North Dakota. She had early aspirations
to be a prosecuting attorney and then criminal psychiatrist.

Upon
moving to Florida, Crystal worked for a local & reputable new home builder
and learned the ins and outs of the new construction business.
. This was a short season in Crystal’s selling career before
she realized she was most suited to selling general real estate and working for
the customer instead of the builder.

While in Florida, Crystal took a position as a
Sales Manager and then promoted to Managing broker at Coldwell Banker Realty in
Venice. During this time, Crystal managed 160 +/- realtors in their 1,200 +/- real
estate transactions a year.
After Crystal’s success at Coldwell Banker, she was
approached with an opportunity to open the Better Homes & Gardens Real
Estate Atchley Properties Venice location as a Branch Manager. Crystal spent 4 ½
years as a manager before deciding to step down to again serve customers in
their real estate transactions.

Crystal proudly teaches the required National Association of
Realtors Ethics course to fellow Realtors as a volunteer instructor at the
Venice Area Board of Realtors. She also previously sat on the Grievance Committee
as a volunteer at the Board of Realtors. The Grievance Committee reviews
complaints of Ethics violations against fellow realtors and decides whether a
violation has likely occurred and if the alleged event needs to be heard by the
Professional Standards Board. As of 2025, Crystal now sits as a volunteer on
the Professional Standards Committee where she and others hear the ethics
complaints and their evidence and decide on the violations of the National
Association of Realtors Code of Ethics.

Crystal also proudly serves as a member of the SERTOMA (Service
to Mankind) club of Venice. This club donates time and monies to many charity
causes within the area with the primary focus of fundraising going to care for
children who are challenged with communication impairment through our center,
the Sertoma Speech Clinic of Venice.

Outside of work, Crystal enjoys time spent with her teenage daughter
and two shih tzu mix dogs. She spends a lot of time reading and is part of two
book local clubs. She also enjoys watching NHL hockey (Go Avalanche and Go
Lightning!), attending pro hockey and baseball games, playing bingo, watching
live theatre shows and time spent amongst friends and family! She is proud of
her younger brother, a retired US Air Force Master Sergeant and feels she
learned a lot of business sense from growing up around her grandfather’s businesses
(truck stop, steakhouse, towing service and gas station). Her grandfather also
owned these businesses after retiring from the United States Air Force as a
Senior Master Sergeant. Crystal recently learned she has a half-sister in
Puerto Rico from Ancestry DNA testing! Crystal dreams of travels to Italy,
Ireland and Greece!
